Art Guidelines

Our MACINTOSH-BASED art department offers complete in-house art services.
We have up-to-date versions of Adobe Illustrator (.eps) and Adobe Photoshop (.psd).
For all other software programs, save files as an encapsulated postscript (.eps) file.
Such files are generally accepted as long as the file has been exported as an .eps file and not simply renamed as one. Any deviation from these standards may result in delays to production schedule.

Art Requirements
Here are a few things to keep in mind when creating your design:

Vector Art (Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, CorelDraw, etc.)
1.Convert text to outlines. This eliminates the need to embed or send fonts.
2.Pick PMS matches for your colors.
3.Avoid complex blends and any transparencies. These require alterations for optimum printing quality.
4.Export art as .eps file.

Raster Art (scanned photos, digital photos, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photopaint, PaintShop, etc.)
1.Create or resize art to the actual size to be printed. Check out our maximum print areas.
2.Resolution should be 300 dpi or greater.
3.Turn off anti-aliasing.
4.Include all layers and channels (don't flatten) when sending Photoshop files.
5.Save as .psd or .tif file.

Spot Colors

If your design uses spot colors, it is best to find the Pantone (PMS) color match. You can download a list of all PMS colors in .pdf format here. Note the PMS numbers (ex. Pantone 276 C) in your art files or when you place your order.

Accepted File Formats:

Adobe Illustrator CS or earlier - .ai, .eps, .pdf
Adobe Photoshop 7 or earlier - .psd, .tif, .bmp, .eps
Macromedia Freehand 9 or earlier - export as .eps
Corel Draw 8 or earlier - export as .ai

We do not accept Quark files (.qxd)
